Izabelin House, the mirror house in the middle of the forest
The mirror house in the woods near Warsaw
Called the Izabelin House, it’s the new residence realized by the famous Polish architect, Marcin Tomaszewski.
The structure is located in a wooded context just outside of Warsaw, and its main characteristic is the impression that the dwelling floats in the forest.
This camouflage effect is contrived by the ground floor, composed of two vertical blocks placed perpendicularly and clad in mirrors, allowing it to seamlessly blend in with the surrounding environment.
The Izabelin House structure
The upper floor, in contrast to the lower one, is plainly visible, constructed in vertical wood elements, immense glass panes and simple white walls.
A large living room, an office and a garage are hidden in the camouflaged interior of the ground floor, while bedrooms and bathrooms are located upstairs.
The Izabelin House was designed to break the rules and immerse itself, even hide itself, in the density of the trees that envelop it, creating a unique, breathtaking living experience.
